Clydesdale foal Schleich Farm World horse 13810
Clydesdales grow slower than other horse breeds. The foals are not fully grown until the age of seven or eight, instead of four or five years. They weigh over 1,000 kg – as much as a small car. They are so strong that they can pull objects much heavier than themselves. This also means that they require a lot of feed and water. Every day, they need 20–25 kg of grain with minerals and vitamins, and about 50–60 kg of hay. Needless to say, this makes them very thirsty – very thirsty, indeed. Clydesdales drink over 100 liters of water per day.
