Trabant 601 COBI Historic car collection 24331

This is a brand new scale and subject for COBI and represents the opening of a completely new car series. Trabant 601 is a technologically advanced block set in a larger model scale of 1:12 and over 30 cm in length! The car - released under the original license of the TRABANT brand - was designed with 1610 elements. The model is characterized by using only high-quality prints! We completely gave up on stickers. New elements have also been specially designed for the needs of such large sets, providing extra functionality: a movable steering wheel that turns the wheels, hinges for opening doors, body and trim elements are all included. A brick-built engine is located under the working bonnet. There is also a characteristic first aid kit on the rear axle. Numerous details such as door handles, lights, and clocks create a detailed whole with the perfectly reproduced characteristic shape of this amazing vehicle.
The model is perfect for collectors and lovers of classic cars. Clear and intuitive instructions that guide through the steps and blocks packed in numbered bags make the building process fun and easy.
Trabant is a brand of cars produced in the GDR at VEB Sachsenring Automobilwerke in Zwickau. The 601 model debuted on the market in 1964 and was produced until 1990. Several technically interesting solutions were used in Trabant cars. One of them was especially bodies made of plastic called duroplast. It had a melting point similar to aluminum and increased the cars resistance to corrosion and crushing. Other notable solutions include a small two-stroke engine, large windows, and a relatively spacious interior. The car reached a dizzying speed just over 100 km/h. Trabants deserve to be called a cult car from the German Democratic Republic. To this day, it is still a recognizable and extremely popular classic, not only among car enthusiasts, but it has also become part of popular culture.
