Seals belong to the seal family and are found in the northern hemisphere in the Atlantic and Pacific oceans. They are mainly found on coasts with shallow sandbanks, but also on protected rocky coasts. Seals are skilled swimmers, capable of diving to depths of 200 meters for 30 minutes. While young seals mainly feed on crustaceans and mollusks, adult seals exclusively eat fish. Although they often lie together in groups on sandbanks, seals are solitary and do not like to be touched by their conspecifics.
